Every Algerian company must keep accounts: a five-employee SARL as much as a large industrial group. That is why accountants work in every sector and every wilaya. On Chghol it is the second most-demanded job, right after sales representative. This guide describes the posts, the diplomas that lead to them, the obligations you will apply and the steps into the job, based on the offers published on the site.

Employers are very spread out — 80 for 88 offers —: property development, audit and advisory firms, industrial and distribution groups, recruitment agencies. ## The framework to know: SCF, filings, regulated professions

- **The Financial Accounting System (SCF)**: set by law no. 07-11 of 25 November 2007, applied since 1 January 2010. It is the reference for all company accounting in Algeria: chart of accounts, financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash-flow statement, notes).
- **Monthly tax filings**: most companies file the **G50** return every month (VAT, IRG on salaries, other taxes depending on the activity). Companies attached to certain tax directorates file and pay online on the **Jibayatic** portal of the Directorate-General of Taxes.
- **Social filings**: CNAS contributions on salaries and the annual salary return. Accountants often work with payroll; see our guide to [reading a payslip](https://chghol.com/en/advice/how-to-read-your-payslip-algeria-cnas-irg-errors).
- **Regulated professions**: chartered accountant (expert-comptable), statutory auditor (commissaire aux comptes) and certified accountant (comptable agréé) are governed by law no. 10-01 of 29 June 2010. These titles require a diploma, a traineeship and registration with the relevant professional body; a salaried accountant in a company does not need them.

> **The texts prevail** — Law no. 07-11 of 25 November 2007 on the financial accounting system; law no. 10-01 of 29 June 2010 on the professions of chartered accountant, statutory auditor and certified accountant. Tax forms and rates change with finance laws: always check the version in force with the DGI. Offer counts are a Chghol snapshot of 3 November 2026, not an official statistic.

## Skills employers look at

- **The SCF and everyday entries**: purchases, sales, fixed assets, depreciation, stock, closing.
- **Tax**: VAT, IRG on salaries, corporate income tax, and the filing calendar.
- **Accounting software**: PC Compta and Sage are widespread; large companies use ERPs (SAP, Odoo…).
- **Excel**: pivot tables, reconciliations, checks; it is often tested at interview.
- **Rigour and discretion**: you handle sensitive figures (salaries, margins, cash).
- **Written French**: most accounting documents and exchanges with banks and firms are in French.

## Getting into accounting in 5 steps

1. **Choose the training** — A higher technician diploma in accounting and management at an INSFP, or a bachelor’s then master’s in finance and accounting at university. For a career change, see our guide to [vocational training](https://chghol.com/en/advice/career-change-algeria-vocational-training-cfpa-insfp-diplomas).
2. **Do a real internship** — An internship in an accounting firm or an accounts department teaches data entry, filings and closings: it is what recruiters ask for first.
3. **Master software and Excel** — State on your CV the software you used and what you did with it: « monthly entry of 300 invoices in PC Compta », « preparing the G50 ».
4. **Start as an assistant accountant** — Assistant accountant, junior accountant or firm assistant: these posts teach the job and lead to an accountant post in two to three years.
5. **Set alerts** — A Chghol alert « accountant + your wilaya » tells you as soon as an offer is published; see also our guide to [writing a CV in Algeria](https://chghol.com/en/advice/how-to-write-a-cv-in-algeria).

## Pay

None of the 88 accountant offers published on Chghol on 3 November 2026 showed a salary. The level depends mostly on experience, company size and wilaya. The [accountant salaries](https://chghol.com/en/salaries/accountant) page and our [gross to net salary](https://chghol.com/en/advice/gross-to-net-salary-algeria) guide help you place yourself; at interview, always talk in net monthly terms.

**Accountant offers near you** — Set an « accountant » alert on your wilaya: you are told as soon as an offer is published.

## Frequently asked questions
