Finding a job in Constantine and eastern Algeria: areas, jobs, employers (2026)

Constantine is the capital of the East, but the region’s jobs are spread across several hubs: Sétif, Béjaïa, Bordj Bou Arréridj, Annaba, Skikda. Here is where to look, which trades have offers and how to organise yourself.

Constantine is the East’s great university, hospital and administrative city. But for a candidate, eastern Algeria works as a network of hubs close to one another: trade and industry in Sétif, electronics in Bordj Bou Arréridj, port and food industry in Béjaïa, steel and port in Annaba, petrochemicals in Skikda. Looking only in Constantine means missing a good share of the offers. This guide starts from the offers published on Chghol to show where the posts are, then gives a method. Getting around Constantine

The Constantine tram, running since 2013, and the cable car, running since 2008, complete buses and taxis; the new town of Ali Mendjeli is linked to the centre by road and tram. For the El Khroub, Oued Hamimime, Palma or Aïn Smara industrial zones, ask about the staff shuttle. For a post in a neighbouring wilaya, compare the cost of the daily commute, or of housing there, with the net salary offered.
